GABBA alumnus Pedro Vale has recently been appointed Chancellor's Fellow, at the University of Edinburgh, a tenure-track position aimed at early-career researchers who have begun to establish a reputation for the highest quality research at the forefront of their discipline. He has also received The Branco Weiss Fellowship from Society in Science (Zurich). The fellowship was founded in 2002 by the late Swiss entrepreneur Dr. Branco Weiss, and is managed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH). The fellowship is designed for exceptionally qualified postdocs who pursue unconventional projects in new areas of science, engineering and social sciences. Pedro will soon be looking for talented students and post-docs to join his lab, to work on various aspects of the evolutionary ecology of host-pathogen interactions.
